Required custom profile fields and asterisk

If in custom profile field the option "Display on registration screen" is checked and option "Required field" is unchecked than (on registration page) the asterisk next to custom profile fields is not shown, but it shows sentence 'The items marked with * are required profile fields and need to be filled out.', even if there is not any required custom profile field (field with asterisk).

Problem is that this behavior confuse those few users who actually read what is written on screen, because they try to find field with asterisk, but there is not one.

So I propose to remove the sentence 'The items marked with * are required profile fields and need to be filled out.' if there on registration page is not any required custom profile field (with asterisk).
Or move the sentence on the top of the registration page, delete from the sentence word "profile" (so it will be like this: 'The items marked with * are required fields and need to be filled out.') and put asterisk on side of required fields as are email address, password and user name.
